Christmas is a time for giving, and one local law firm is providing a little inspiration this holiday season. Last week, Gold Khourey & Turak was informed their float won first place in the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade. The law firm decided to not only donate the winnings, but to match the award and present it to Helping Heroes. Helping Heroes is a local non-profit organization that assists veterans with a variety of services.
“When we were informed we had won, our first thought was to pay it forward,” says Teena Miller, a partner at the law firm. “My husband is a veteran, so we understand the sacrifices servicemen and women and their families make to protect our country. We remember their selfless service, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year. Helping Heroes is a first-class organization, and we are happy to provide this donation to assist veterans,” says Miller.
Jeremy Harrison is Chief Operations Officer and co-founder of Helping Heroes located in Moundsville. “The success and growth of Helping Heroes can be attributed significantly to the local community supporting us over the years. We can’t help every veteran family without the generosity from our patriotic, local contributors,” offers Harrison.
