The holidays are a special time for many of us in the Ohio Valley. December can be stressful and busy, but we always try and do our best to take time and celebrate with our community. Whether it is participating in our local communities Christmas Parade or bringing friends and family to our office for our tree lighting, we enjoy sharing these special moments with our clients and partners.
Take a look at some of the highlights and upcoming events Gold, Khourey & Turak are proud to be part of during the Holiday season.
Moundsville Christmas Parade with Special Guest
Our law firm was proud to welcome the West Virginia Teacher of the Year Jennifer Schwertfeger on our float during the Moundsville Christmas Parade. Schwertfeger is a science teacher at Cameron Elementary School and received the Teacher of the Year honor in early November.
Moundsville Chamber of Commerce First Place Float
We are proud members of the Moundsville Chamber of Commerce and also proud winners of their first-place award (commercial/business float).
Other winners include:
- 1st Place Non-profit – Ohio River Valley Council Boy Scout
- Best Theme Representation – McMechen First Church of God.
A lot of time and effort goes into running the parade and we are thankful for all those that help, participated, and represented our community so well.
Facebook 2019 Christmas Giveaways
For the last several years, our team has tried to give back to our community. By following our Facebook page, you can enter to win one of weekly giveaway contests. Over the years we have found some of the more difficult presents on your childs list and held a friendly contest each week. It has been a great experience of messaging and talking to everyone joining the contest.
If you haven’t entered our contest yet, there is still time for one last prize.
Polar Express at the Strand Theatre
Some of the attorneys at our law office was fortunate enough to visit The Strand Theatre (Moundsville, WV) this month for a tour. This remarkable building holds so much history and really adds to the many great landmarks in Moundsville. 17th Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting
For the seventeenth year, we invite the community to join us at our Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting on Wednesday, December 11th from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Join us at our law office located at 510 Tomlinson Avenue in Moundsville. Nearly 200 people are expected to attend.
The evening’s festivities will begin with Santa being delivered by firetruck down Tomlinson Avenue and arriving at Gold, Khourey & Turak at 4:30 p.m. Santa will be available for photos with children until 6:00 p.m. All photos with Santa are FREE. The Opus and Gentlemen Singers will sing Christmas carols from 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. Spike from the Wheeling Nailers will mingle with guests throughout the evening. This year’s tree is a 17 foot blue spruce from Pike Vue Tree Farm in Wellsburg. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available to all guests.
We are excited for the opportunity to spend some time with our friends and neighbors, and to share our beautiful tree with the community. The tree lighting has become a tradition for many families and some guests have attended each year. We are involved in a lot of events throughout the year, and our tree lighting is one of our favorites. We invite you to stop by and celebrate Christmas with us.
