Nearly 200 Friends and Neighbors Gather for Gold, Khourey & Turak’s 23rd Annual Christmas Tree Light

The holiday spirit was alive and shining on Thursday, December 11th, as nearly 200 people gathered at Gold, Khourey & Turak’s 23rd Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting.  What has become a beloved local tradition once again brought families, friends, and neighbors together to celebrate the magic of the season.

The excitement began right at 4:30 p.m. when the sound of sirens echoed down Tomlinson Avenue.  Children anxiously awaited as Santa made his grand entrance by Moundsville City firetruck.  Families enjoyed free photos with Santa throughout the evening, capturing moments they’ll cherish for years.

The celebration continued with the beautiful sound of The Opus and Gentlemen Singers, who filled the evening air with classic Christmas carols from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m.  As guests visited, laughed, and enjoyed the music, Spike from the Wheeling Nailers added extra fun—sharing high-fives, holiday cheer, and a few unexpected photobombs with both kids and adults.

This year’s Christmas tree—a stunning 14-foot blue spruce from Pike Vue Tree Farm in Wellsburg—stood proudly as the centerpiece of the event.  Guests enjoyed complimentary cookies, drinks, and plenty of festive cheer as the lights from the beautiful tree lit up the evening sky.

“We’re always excited to kick off the holidays with our friends and neighbors and to share our tree with the community,” said Christopher Turak, partner at Gold, Khourey & Turak. “For many families, this event is part of their Christmas tradition, and seeing familiar faces return each year means so much to us. We’re truly grateful for everyone who came out and made this year’s tree lighting so special.”
