Tonight is April 29th, Prom night. A night that everyone looks forward to. At approximately 11:00 p.m., Alexis Dober, Krista Gessler, and Dana Mroczkowski leave the Georgian Center in Wheeling, the site of their Prom. They head up to Andrew Olsen’s house in Kirkwood Heights to change out of their prom dresses and meet up with some friends before heading to the after-prom. Although no alcohol was allowed at the party, Alexis didn’t think anyone would care if she had a couple of beers just to pass some time. Dana noticed she was drinking and got upset with her. When she tried to convince her to hand over her keys, Alexis refused and started a big fight.

The confrontation upset Alexis, “I don’t need this,” she said. She decided to leave Andrew’s to drive around and have fun on her own. Krista felt bad for Alexis and decided to go with her to keep her company. They got into Alexis’ car and headed down Howard Street all the way to the Stop 10 Bridge, and then up into Boydsville. Looking at the clock, they realize they only have 10 minutes to get to the school for the after-prom. Pressed for time, Alexis decides to speed through the back roads. Krista has never seen Alexis drive like this before. Alexis is driving erratically, driving down the center of the road at times. Krista begs her to slow down, but Alexis refuses. As they approach the big hill and the BUMP in the road that everyone loves to speed over, Alexis decides to gas it a little more to get more of a “jump” from the hill. Their car hits the hill and Krista screams, “Watch out!,” but it’s too late. Alexia loses control of the vehicle, goes left of center, and crashes into an on-coming vehicle. The occupants of the on-coming vehicle are Dana Mroczkowski, Marissa Teadsdale, and Michael Roberts.
