Jonathan E. Turak joined the law firm of Gold & Khourey as an associate in 1981 and became a partner in 1984, at which time the firm became known as Gold, Khourey & Turak.
Mr. Turak's interest in becoming an attorney started while he was growing up in Pittsburgh, PA. As a member of a large family, he was afforded opportunities to see life from many different angles. Unfortunately, life seemed unfair for certain people. He realized there were many people that needed help, and sometimes they just needed a way to fight back. Mr. Turak became an attorney because he wanted to be able to stand up for himself, for his family, and for the people that needed help. For nearly 25 years, his voice has served as a way to fight back for many individuals and families who have suffered injury or death because of someone else's carelessness.
As an extension of his law practice, Mr. Turak is committed to giving back to the community and dedicated to making the Ohio Valley a better place to live. He founded the Literacy Volunteers of Marshall & Ohio Counties, Inc. to help illiterate adults learn to read and write, and the Booze and Cruise, You'll Lose program to educate the community about the consequences of driving under the influence. He was also instrumental in securing more than $260,000 in contributions to the Literacy Volunteers, and a $208,000 contribution to Wheeling Health Right, Inc.. Mr. Turak serves on numerous boards, and donates his time to many non-profit organizations. |
